Disney has announced Samuel Lau will take over as managing director of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort following the sudden resignation of Andrew Kam.
Kam has left for personal reasons, it was reported.
Hong Kong Disneyland recently posted an annual loss of HK$148 million as visitor numbers fell more than 9% in 2015.
Samuel Lau was most recently vice president of operations.
He joined Walt Disney World Resort in Florida in 2010 as vice president, transportation and took over as vice president, Epcot in 2014.
"We are excited about the business developments at HKDL. With his proven track record in driving business excellence, Sam will provide leadership for the continuous development of the resort, leveraging the opportunities of the new offerings based on strong Disney franchises," said Bill Ernest, Disney’s president and managing director for Asia.
