Hotel Le Bristol for Abu Dhabi
ABU DHABI – Hotel Le Bristol, one of the world’s most prestigious hotels, will open a sister property in Abu Dhabi in 2012, local daily The National reports.
To be called Le Bristol Abu Dhabi, the US$163.3 million property will be a joint venture with the government’s National Corporation for Tourism and Hotels.
Construction on Le Bristol Abu Dhabi is expected to start in a year and was likely to take about 24 months to complete, said Frank Marrenbach, CEO of the European luxury hotel company Oetker Hotel Collection, which will manage the property.
The hotel’s design will not be a carbon copy of Hotel Le Bristol Paris. It will be a blend of “French savoir-vivre and traditional Arabian hospitalityâ€, the daily quoted Marrenbach as saying.
Marrenbach said the global downturn was an ideal time to begin
such a project because construction materials were cheaper and the competition was less.
