India to clean up its act

India’s Ministry of Tourism (MoT) has launched a campaign against “unsatisfactory hygiene and cleanliness†at tourist destinations.
“Campaign Clean India†will include a series of initiatives such as workshops, seminars, training and awareness programmes and policies.
The campaign will follow a multi-pronged strategy to include educational initiatives in schools and colleges, and creating awareness through celebrity-led activities.
A Cleanliness Action Programme will include private parties, states and NGOs.
