India’s new luxury train ready to roll

Travel Corporation (India) has scheduled the launch of Indian Maharaja – Deccan Odyssey, a five-star deluxe train, in November this year.
The tourist train will accommodate 96 passengers in 21 coaches, of which 11 are passenger cars.
The train includes a spa, beauty saloon, restaurants and lounge.
It is scheduled to depart from Mumbai on November 18 and will have an itinerary covering Udaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Jaipur, Agra and Delhi.
The tour also includes private luxury transfers, Volvos for groups, personalised and multilingual tour guides, exclusive safaris, flea markets, cultural programmes and gala dinners.
The Taj Hotels & Palaces will be the official F&B partner for the luxury train and will offer specialised catering services to guests on board. 


TCI says it has already received good market response from the UK, USA, Europe, Switzerland, Germany and Japan and is targeting up-market travellers from these countries.
The basic cost per passenger per day begins from US$525 to US$950.
