The ITB Mobile Guide – provided by GIATA & TOURIAS Mobile – lets visitors navigate their way easily around the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. Besides a map of the grounds, information includes the programme of the ITB Convention, a list of events along with press conferences, presentations, receptions, and a function for looking up exhibitors.

After the fair closes the ITB Mobile Guide provides users with information on the quickest way to the city centre and tips on Berlin nightlife.

Also included are restaurants, bars and information on tourist attractions. This clever pocket-sized trade fair companion can be easily downloaded onto many standard mobiles and smartphones, for example at www.itb-berlin.de/mobil via an internet landline, at itb-berlin.mobi via a mobile phone / smartphone browser, by texting (only one-time, low-cost charges for a text message and/or download), or via a Bluetooth station at the TOURIAS Mobile Stand in Hall 7.1c/Stand 129) in the new Mobile Travel Services section.

Once again, this year’s ITB Mobile Guide has been developed by leading tourism content providers TOURIAS Mobile and GIATA. TOURIAS tips&deals, a product marketed by both companies, offers hotels, tour operators and travel portals comprehensive solutions for mobiles and smartphones. The TOURIAS tips&deals HotelGuide lets hotels advertise their services by providing extensive hotel information in up to 11 languages, a complete travel guide, as well as numerous practical features such as maps and weather information. Christoph Schotter, Managing Director of Tourias Mobile GmbH: “Applications are now a big trend in the tourism industry as well. They offer destinations, tour operators and hotels altogether new opportunities for marketing and winning customers.“

TOURIAS Mobile, Würzburg, develops, operates and markets applications for mobile devices. Among its customers are TUI Deutschland, ITB Berlin, Swiss Railways (SBB), Hamburg Tourismus and City Airport Train in Vienna. Besides customised items, TOURIAS Mobile markets standard products for a variety of customers in the tourism industry, e.g. for hotels, destinations and tour operators.

GIATA mbH, an association which develops and markets interactive tourism applications, is the leading content provider for the tourism industry. GIATA obtains and standardises (normalises) digital images and texts supplied by nearly all the well known tour operators and travel agencies: TUI, Thomas Cook, Easyjet, ITS, FTI, Alltours, Öger Tours, Expedia, Travelchannel, Opodo, Lastminute.com and billigweg.de. Overall, Giata produces and distributes data for close to 18,000 customers.
