Jersey re-opens to visitors
Jersey’s borders reopen today (July 3), but with new Covid-related requirements in place.
On arrival, visitors must either provide documentary evidence of a negative PCR test, taken within 72 hours of arriving in Jersey, or be swab-tested at the airport or harbour.
While waiting for the results, holidaymakers must limit the time spent away from their accommodation, limit social contact and, where possible, avoid public transport and indoor gatherings.
Or, visitors must self-isolate for 14 days.
In addition, all passengers must complete a pre-registration before travelling.
Agents are encouraged to ensure all clients complete their preregistration form prior to travelling because anyone who fails to pre-register can expect to face significant delays when arriving in the island.
The form is for contact tracing purposes and asks visitors for their personal details, including a declaration of health, countries visited before departing, whether they have Covid-19 symptoms or have been in close contact with someone who is infected.
When returning to the UK, there is no need to self isolate for 14 days.
There are also new measures in place at the island’s airport. Here’s a video outlining the changes.
