JetBlue has announced plans for its sixth destination in South America, with nonstop flights linking Fort Lauderdale and Guayaquil, Ecuador.
Service kicks off on February 28, and becomes the second city served in Ecuador.
Guayaquil José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport is a gateway to the Galapagos Islands.
The airline says flight timings allow for easy connections through FLL from several cities nationwide including New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, and Philadelphia.
"With nearly a third of JetBlue’s capacity already in the Caribbean and Latin America, new flights between south Florida and Guayaquil advance JetBlue’s leadership in this important region," said Andrea Lusso, director route planning, JetBlue.
The carrier is offering introductory fares on the new route starting from $89 one way departing Fort Lauderdale.
