Resort operator and travel brand Karma Resorts will once again sponsor next month’s Rottnest Channel Swim, one of Western Australia’s premier participation sporting events.
Karma, which operates a resort in Rottnest, has announced Paul Newsome, one of the world’s top open water swim instructors as expert Karma Swim Ambassador for this year’s event.
The February 25 event covers a 19.7 km open water swim from Cottesloe Beach to Rottnest Island and is open to solo swimmers and small teams.
Richie Strahan from ‘The Bachelor Australia’ will also join Newsome as an event ambassador.
"Last year’s swim was an unparalleled success with a total of 2,943 swimmers, including a healthy international contingent and competitors from all over Australia," said John Spence, Founder and Chairman of Karma Group.
The event is organised in association with the Rottnest Channel Swim Association and Karma Group is supporting fundraising efforts by the Cancer Council WA.
Karma Group is marking the event a choice of special dining packages on the day.
Karma Group operates a number of travel and lifestyle brands including Karma Resorts, Karma Retreats, Karma Beach and Karma Spa.
It also formed a partnership last year with Sanctum Hotel Group with the aim to launch rock ‘n’ roll themed hotels worldwide.
