KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will begin operating scheduled service to Xiamen International Airport in China on March 27.

It claims this will be the first direct flight to the city from Europe.

With this new route KLM offers 43 weekly frequencies to China.

The new service will be operated three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays on a Boeing 777-200ER.

KLM’s SkyTeam partner China Southern Airlines offers connecting flights to and from Xiamen from destinations in China.
