Loganair announces Heathrow expansion for summer

Regional carrier Loganair has announced an expansion of its Heathrow services for summer 2024.

Shetland, Orkney, Isle of Man and City of Derry will all benefit from increased frequencies and new flight times.

The Sumburgh-London one-stop same-plane service will resume in early March after a short winter break.

From 31 March, the service will increase to three flights each week, with departures in each direction on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

Also in the highlands, Kirkwall’s one-stop air service to London will return in early March.

There will be two weekly London flights during the summer to Heathrow’s Terminal 2.

For customers in Northern Ireland, there will be an improved timetable of London flights from City of Derry with three Heathrow flights in each direction on Sundays which is an increase to keep pace with demand.

Loganair will also boost its Isle of Man Ronaldsway-London flight connection with a new earlier arrival time into Heathrow.

This opens up a much wider range of same-day flight connections to North America.

The daily Heathrow service will now leave the Isle of Man at 9.45am and arrive at London Heathrow Terminal 2 at 11:20am.

This means connections to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver and Seattle are now possible.

A second Isle of Man-Heathrow flight will also run on Saturdays through the summer.

Luke Lovegrove, Loganair’s Chief Commercial Officer said: “Our routes to Heathrow have gone from strength to strength since we started our services from T2 last April.”

“We continue to fly to some of the most remote destinations and this summer will provide unrivalled regional connectivity for these areas.”
