Malaysia extends lockdown
Malaysia’s national lockdown has been extended for a further two weeks. It will now run until at least 28 June, with infection rates still rising after dozens of clusters were reported across the country.
Malaysia has recorded more than 650,000 infections since the start of the pandemic, and nearly 4,000 people have died so far.
President of the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents, Tan Kok Liang, called for the government to ramp up its vaccine programme and prioritise tourism sector workers.
