Manchester Airport expansion gets approval

Plans for a £1 billion redevelopment of Manchester Airport have been granted planning approval.

The work includes the demolition of the airport’s Terminal 1 and a major extension to Terminal 2.

It part of a transformation plan which aims to increase capacity from 20 million to 30 million annual passengers by 2025.

The first phase of the Terminal Two transformation is due to start next month for completion by the end of March 2022.
