Neilson picks top three snow sure ski resorts
Neilson has named its top three snow sure ski resorts ahead of the start of the season.
It comes after unpredictable snow conditions over the past few winters.
Here’s Neilson’s pick:
Les Deux Alpes, France
Les Deux Alpes has one of the highest skiable glaciers in Europe at 3,570m, so throughout the season, snow is guaranteed. Not only suited to experts, an excellent range of blue and red runs mean beginners and intermediate skiers have plenty of terrain to explore across 135km of pistes, whilst soaking up beautiful panoramic mountain views.
Penia di Canazei, Italy
Nicely off the beaten track and quite possibly one of the most picturesque resorts in Italy, Penia di Canazei can be found at the heart of the 1220km Dolomites ski area, on the 40km Sella Ronda loop. A new lift in neighbouring Alba drops you right on to the Sella Ronda loop and from there, you’re just a few lifts from the snow sure Marmolada Glacier. Italy also has an excellent reputation for snow making so even when natural snow cover is more limited, resorts are able to keep pistes in pristine condition.
Pas de la Casa, Andorra
Standing at 2,100m, Pas de la Casa is the highest resort in all of the Grandvalira ski area in Andorra and one of the highest resorts in Europe. The highest point of the resort is 2,560m, meaning that the runs are still high enough for excellent quality snow. The height of Pas de la Casa combined with the artificial snow making system which covers 60% of the runs, means skiers and boarders will always be able to explore this vast ski area.
