New cruise training DVD launched
A new training DVD to assist agents in selling cruising more effectively has been released by the Passenger Shipping Association Retail Agent Scheme (PSARA).
Presented by agents for agents, the DVD was filmed aboard P&O Cruises’ Oceana. It is designed to highlight key factors for agents to consider when advising customers on the right cruise – such as destinations, children’s facilities, entertainment and dining options.
As well as covering mass market cruising, the DVD also explores alternative cruise experiences such as specialist cruises, luxury cruises and working ships.
Its release comes on the back of new figures showing that more than one million UK holidaymakers took a cruise in 2004 and AC Neilson reporting a 34% increase in cruise sales for summer 2005.
Supplementary to the PSARA DVD is the launch of the latest Columbus Cruise and Port Review. With 140 pages featuring detailed information on different aspects and trends of cruising – this guide is described as the “definitive tool” for agents when selling cruising.
PSARA general manager Bryony Coulson said: “With the latest cruising figures it is easy to see that cruising has become a popular holiday choice amongst the Brits.
“It is essential that agents are now given training in order to effectively sell cruise holiday. Tools such as the PSARA DVD and the Columbus Cruise and Port Review are excellent in providing agents with a broad overview of cruising.”
PSARA hosts training courses on selling cruising nationwide throughout 2005. By participating in training courses and educational activities, agents can move towards becoming an Accredited Cruise Agent at which point PSARA refer potential cruise customers.
PSARA members can get a free copy of the new PSARA training DVD and a copy of the Columbus Cruise and Port Review by emailing Jules Rogers at [email protected] or calling 0207 436 2449. For further information on joining PSARA visit www.psa-para.org
