New Melia resort to open in Phuket
Melia’s new Phuket suite and villa resort Melia Phuket Mai Khao is set to open in December.
Fronting Phuket’s longest stretch of sand, the resort on Mai Khao Beach is close to various attractions such as Sirinat National Park, Mai Khao Marine Turtle Foundation, and Wat Phra Thong temple.
Phuket International Airport is a mere 15-minute drive away
The five-star resort features 30 suites and 70 villas and is owned by Thai residential real estate developer Phuket Villa Group.
It is part of a roll-out of the Meli brand in key destinations across Thailand including Koh Samui, Chiang Mai and Bangkok.
It features saltwater swimming pools, private villa pools, a reflection pond with sunken seating areas, water gardens and vertical falls.
The Mediterranean-inspired one-bedroom suites and one-bedroom villas each cater for up to two adults and two children.
Melia Phuket Mai Khao offers four culinary outlets including all-day dining restaurant SASA which specialises in Southeast Asian cuisine.
There is also a spa, fitness centre and meeting and event space comprising a grand ballroom and two additional multi-function rooms.
"There isn’t a more desirable place to be on the water than Mai Khao Beach. We’re looking incredibly forward to unveiling a bleisure resort defined by a distinct focus on customer wellbeing," said Magdalena Martorell, Melia Phuket Mai Khao’s General Manager.
Authorities plan to open Thailand to fully vaccinated tourists from low-risk countries starting from 1 November.
