The Tourism Society has recruited the founder of the Holiday Care Service as its new chief executive.

Sue Finch has also worked in policy and development with the former English Tourist Board and as tourism manager for local authorities in Surrey.

A statement said: “Sue joins the Tourism Society at a challenging time for the industry and in an exciting period leading up to the 2012 Olympics.

“The Tourism Society is also embarking on a consultation project to determine the shape and content of a new Tourism Act.

“She is looking forward to taking the society into the future whilst maintaining the standards of exceelence for which it is know here in the UK and overseas.”
