Governor Andrew M. Cuomo has unveiled details of the New York Winter Ski Bus services for the upcoming ski season.
Weekly trips from New York City to Hunter, Plattekill and Belleayre mountain ski areas will begin on January 22.
Each Saturday the bus heads to Plattekill Mountain, Belleayre on Sundays, and Hunter Mountain every Friday.
In addition, Cuomo announced the start of overnight services to Whiteface, the mountain with highest vertical drop east of the Rockies.
"The I LOVE NEW YORK Bus is a great way for downstate skiers and riders to enjoy some of New York State’s top mountains," said governor Cuomo.
"It has never been easier for New Yorkers and tourists alike to experience the world renowned skiing and other outdoor recreational activities that await them upstate this winter."
A special large group package is being launched this season called ‘Have Your Own Mountain for a Day,’ offering groups of 100 or more exclusive private use of Plattekill Mountain on any weekday.
Reservations for all bus services, which are operated by Hampton Jitney, are live on the I LOVE NEW YORK website.
I LOVE NEW YORK has also teamed up with REI Outdoor School to help increase exposure to snow sports and other outdoor activities state-wide.
Aside from skiing, the company organizes tuition, field programs and day outings for numerous activities including rock climbing, hiking and kayaking.
"REI is thrilled to be partnering with I LOVE NEW YORK to provide the opportunity for our members and customers to explore some of New York’s most beautiful ski destinations," said REI outreach manager Melissa Abramson.
