Niagara Falls during the solar eclipse
Niagara Falls USA is inviting visitors to experience two natural wonders this April.
Niagara Falls is in the direct path of totality of the total solar eclipse on Monday 8 April, making it an unbeatable location to experience the once-in-a-generation event.
It will last for almost four minutes, with totality occurring at 3.18pm.
The sky will darken over the cascading waters of one of the natural wonders in the world.
A prime viewing area will be at Niagara Falls State Park, with unobstructed views of the eclipse, with some of the best spots to see it at Terrapin Point, Prospect Point, and the Observation Tower.
From the 4-8 April, astronauts from NASA and other scientists will offer free programming and exhibits throughout Niagara Falls.
There will be programs at Niagara Falls Public Libraries, the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center, the Aquarium of Niagara, the Niagara Power Vista, the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute and Niagara Falls State Park.
For British travelers looking to experience the phenomenon, Audley Travel has a seven-day New England itinerary which visits Niagara Falls during the eclipse from £3,600 per person, including flights, accommodation and car rental.
