Norwegian Viva christened in Miami
Norwegian Cruise Line has officially christened its second Prima-class ship, Norwegian Viva.
It took place during a star-studded event in Miami with Grammy Award-nominated singer, Luis Fonsi.
Ship grandfather Fonsi took to the stage along with other performers including “Saturday Night Live” cast member and Miami-native, Marcello Hernandez; Queen of Latin Pop, Paulina Rubio; and recently announced GRAMMY® Award-nominated artist, Pedro Capó.
“As a company, it has been a milestone year with the debut of next-generation ships across all three of our cruise brands,” said NCLH President Harry Sommer.
“Norwegian Viva’s initial guest satisfaction scores have outshone any newbuild in the history of the NCL fleet.”
“It is so exciting to celebrate the magnificent Norwegian Viva in true Latin-style in Miami and alongside fellow A-list Latino entertainers,” said Luis Fonsi.”
Norwegian Viva has capacity for 3,099 guests, with activities including the three-story Viva Speedway; the Indulge Food Hall and a top-class art collection.
Following select voyages from Miami, the ship will reposition to San Juan, Puerto Rico for Caribbean cruises on 15 December, 2023.
Through March 2024, Norwegian Viva will offer seven-day Caribbean cruises with calls to Tortola, BVI; Antigua; Barbados; St. Lucia; St. Maarten; and St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
In April 2024, Norwegian Viva will return to Europe to sail Mediterranean and Greek Isles itineraries.
