Ocean Village upgrades website with 360-degree virtual tour
Panoramic pictures on-board and mini-adventure movies ashore feature on a revamped Ocean Village website.
The site – www.oceanvillageholidays.co.uk – contains more detailed information about 2007 cruises, including updated destination and itinerary information for both its Mediterranean and Caribbean seasons – including interactive maps – new transatlantic cruise options and details of Ocean Village Two’s maiden voyage in April 2007.
The 360-degree virtual tour of the original Ocean Village ship is retained as a complete ‘walk-through’ guide, but in addition, the panoramic photos – many with integral video inserts – of each bar, restaurant, pool area, cabin type and other facility have been re-edited and integrated into the appropriate subject areas.
Users can now access 360 degree photos of Connexions Bar, including video footage of cocktails being prepared, under the ‘Watering Holes’ heading.
Under ‘Gigs and Giggles’ and ‘Deck Spectacular’ users can watch excerpts of a Robbie Williams tribute act and Ocean Village’s deck show. Visitors can also view panoramic shots of each room type under the ‘cabins’ section.
The new site also hosts video clips of Action Ashore options, which have been categorised under Adventure, Cultural and Fun headings, to show customers what they can get up to at each destination.
The new site will shortly also include an interactive spa feature profiling Ocean Village Two’s ‘Ultimate Spa Experience’. This facility will take customers through the new ship’s outstanding spa facilities with calming video footage, extensive photography and floor plans for the new ship’s Karma Spa and Fitness areas, complete with an ocean view gym, aerobics zone, 11 luxury treatment rooms, Herbal, Swedish and Hammam sauna/steam rooms, plus meditation and relaxation rooms and a shower station.
Head of marketing Gill Haynes said: “Our shiny new site takes Ocean Village to a new level and gives an even better feel for what our very different take on cruising is all about.
“Our aim has been to make it easier than ever for people to find all the information they need, especially the 60% of our passengers who will never have tried a cruise before.
“The 360 degree pictures, video clips and Action Ashore movies give everyone an up-front appreciation of what Ocean Village offers before they’ve even stepped on board, ensuring that our many first timers, as well as increasing numbers of repeat bookers, know what makes Ocean Village so distinctive as well as so appealing.”
