Operator boss suspended in company probe
Outspoken Cadogan Holidays managing director Gary David has been suspended from the company pending an investigation.
David, a former ABTA director, was suspended last month and has since been signed off sick.
Details of the investigation have not been disclosed.
The Bland Group, which owns Cadogan Holidays and GB Airways, confirmed the news in a statement.
The group’s managing director and Cadogan chairman James Gaggero said: “Gary David was officially suspended from his position as MD of Cadogan Holidays on January 16 pending the outcome of an investigation. We can also confirm that as of January 30, Mr David was signed off sick for two months.
“We will not be making any further statements at this time.”
The statement added that the group is recruiting an interim manager to run the day to day operation.
In addition to his ABTA duties, David has played a leading role in the Truly Independent Professional Travel Organisation (TIPTO) and the Association of Independent Tour Operators.
He was the current chairman of the association of tour operators to Portugal.
