Operators write off ski season
Crystal Ski has cancelled its programme for the rest of the season while rival Skiworld has begun taking 2021 off sale.
Inghams, Ski Total and Flexiski cancelled all holidays up to 2 April last month, but they have been clinging on to some late season trips.
Crystal MD Chris Logan said: "We’re so disappointed not to be able to get our customers to the mountains this winter and we’d like to thank them for their continued patience, understanding and support.
"We know skiers and snowboarders are desperate to get back on the snow and we’re now looking forward to making next winter one to remember."
Skiers are still ready to hit the slopes
Skiworld Sales and Marketing Director Diane Palumbo said skiers were still prepared to book for this season, which has convinced the operator to leave some properties open in case travel restrictions are relaxed.
However, most are booking for next season, which is likely to lead to a shortage of holidays. Diane said: "With fewer flights and pent up demand across all skiing nationalities, securing a ski holiday now, with a bonded operator, is the clever thing to do."
