Opodo’s UK customers can now book package holidays online due to a link up with South Wales based fulfilment and technology company DTS.
Opodo claims the new service means it can offer package holiday deals from “all the top tour operators” with direct connections into the tour operator databases providing real time prices and availability. Holidays are provided through DTS sister company Holiday Express (ABTA No. E8585)
The website’s UK country manager Jenny Taylor said: “We are launching our package holiday service with a strong emphasis on the number of great late deals available, in order to encourage people to book now and get away.”
The spokeswoman told TravelMole: “We want to be able to offer customers the full choice of products. Obviously flights are the main drivers on the site, but we have found that independent travellers may still want the ability to book a week in the Canary Islands.”
She added that the service would also be introduced in Germany and France, but it was not yet clear when this would happen.
Opodo is a joint venture between nine European airlines – Aer Lingus, Air France, Alitalia, Austrian Airlines, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia, KLM and Lufthansa.
