Former Thomas Cook director Marco Trecroce has joined Opodo as chief operating officer.

He will be responsible for the pan-European online travel group’s technology and operations across the whole of the Opodo group.

Most recently he was a management consultant with Opodo majority shareholder Amadeus and prior to this was UK group business transformation & operations director for Thomas Cook and also worked for MyTravel as UK project director.

Opodo CEO Simon Vincent, also previously with Thomas Cook, said: “His strong experience in business transformation along with his extensive travel industry knowledge will be a great asset to the company as we continue to integrate our recently acquired businesses and expand the Opodo brand across Europe.”
