A 28th property has been acquired by von Essen hotels for an undisclosed sum.

Callow Hall in the Derbyshire Peak District has 16 rooms and an award-winning restaurant.

Next summer sees the official inauguration of a 29th hotel and new look heliport at Battersea in London.

Company chairman Andrew Davis said: “We are delighted to have acquired a property with such a strong heritage, brought back to life by the Spencer family and now available to an even wider community of guests.

“Von Essen hotels’ passion is to nurture all we inherit, and I am delighted that Anthony Spencer will continue as head chef, and we look forward to staying in close contact with Mr & Mrs Spencer – our new neighbours.”
