Peregrine's new mega brochures - TravelMole

Peregrine’s new mega brochures

Friday, 15 Nov, 2006 0

Because all adventure travellers are not the same, Peregrine has published two new mega-brochures featuring the best adventures from around the globe, aimed at two different types of adventurer.

The Walking, Trekking & Wilderness brochure is full of trips for the adventurer wanting a more challenging, off-the-beaten-path experience, while The Culture, Wildlife & History brochure’s trips are aimed at those seeking an adventure but with less physical exertion – juts like The Mole!!

One of Peregrine’s 35 new active and wilderness adventures, the 12-day Tanzania Walking Safari gets active travellers out amongst the wildlife, wilderness and remote villages of northern Tanzania. Beginning in Nairobi, Kenya, the first stop is the Masai community of Longido, near the border of Kenya and Tanzania, to get to know the locals and their way of life.

Wildlife lovers will be in their element with safaris in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater – often said to offer the best game viewing experience in Africa. Heading for the hills of the Ngorongoro Highlands, the group covers over 70 km in four days, traversing part of the Rift Valley featuring impressive peaks, steep escarpments, crater lakes, dense forests, waterfalls and remote tribal villages.

The Tanzania Walking Safari has departures from February through November 2007. Prices start at $4,050 per person twin share and include an experienced local tour leader and safari guides, accommodation, transfers, most meals, camping equipment, game drives, sightseeing and park entry fees.

Peregrine’s Culture, Wildlife and History brochure is full of less-physical adventures, including 50 new trips, such as the Egypt & Libya Adventure. This 22-day trip offers plenty of history and culture – several millennia of history in fact – but at a more relaxed pace. Beginning in Cairo for a look at the pyramids and Sphinx, the trip continues to Luxor and on down the Nile for an overnight sail to Aswan.

Crossing the top of Egypt into Libya, it’s apparent that Libya is now blossoming as a tourist destination. Many cultures have ruled this part of the world, and the Greeks, Romans, Byzantines and Arabs have all left their mark. Leptis Magna in particular is one of the most impressive and well-maintained Roman ruins in the world. The tour finishes in the buzzing Mediterranean city of Tripoli.

There are regular departures of the Egypt & Libya Adventure beginning in April 2007. Prices start at $4,980 per person twin share, including a local tour leader and experienced local guides, accommodation, breakfasts, transfers, sightseeing and entrance fees.
