P&O unveils multi-million investment
P&O Cruises is investing in improvements on three of its ships after carrying out customer research.
The multi-million pound investment on Ventura, Oceana and Arcadia will take place over the next 18 months, starting with refurbishments of Oceana in December this year.
The ship will spend around 11 days in the yard, between the cruise which returns to Southampton on December 5 and the following cruise which departs on December 20.
During that time, P&O will refurbish parts of the Oasis Spa, shops and ice cream parlour, add seating, and upgrade soft furnishings in the cabins.
Work will take place on Ventura for around 13 days in spring 2013, between the cruise which returns to Southampton on March 22 and the following cruise which departs on April 7.
Upgrades will include 18 new single cabins, a new dance floor, and a new restaurant – The Glasshouse – to replace Las Ramblas bar and restaurant.
Arcadia will also be refurbished in December 2013 in time for her 2014 world cruise.
Highlights of the work will include the addition of single cabins, cabin refurbishment with new soft furnishings and re-fitting of the shops.
P&O Cruises managing director Carol Marlow said: "We are committed to ongoing and continuous improvement and refurbishment of our ships so that there is a consistent standard of decor across the fleet."
