Qatar to launch US flights
Qatar Airways will launch flights from Doha to New York and Washington D.C. in the summer and will add other destinations over the next few months.
From June 28 it will start four flights a week to New York while Washington will be a daily flight. The launch date for Washington has not yet been confirmed.
“Our first move into the US market this summer represents an important step in the history of Qatar Airways as we launch not one, but two destinations in North America,” said Qatar Airways chief executive Oofficer Akbar Al Baker.
Scheduled flights to Chennai (formerly Madras), Bali and Ho Chi Minh City will begin towards the end of this month.
They follow the launch of services to Nigeria’s commercial capital of Lagos on March 1.
