Regent unveils plans for ‘most luxurious ship ever built’

Regent Seven Seas Cruises has revealed more details of its newest ship launching next summer, calling it the "most luxurious ship ever built."

Taking center stage on the Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ 750-passenger Seven Seas Explorer is the 3,875-square-feet Regent Suite which comes with two bedrooms, a private spa and a price tag of $5,000 per person per day.

"There’s nothing else like this in the cruise industry at all," said new chief operating officer of Regent Jason Montague.

With a maximum capacity of 750, guests will have the highest space ratio in the cruise industry, the company said.

Seven Seas Explorer will feature dining venues including the signature steakhouse, Prime 7 and main dining room Compass Rose.

"We set a high benchmark for Seven Seas Explorer, not only to build a ship that far surpasses the current standard in luxury cruising, but to design a ship that will be recognized industry-wide as the most luxurious ship ever," said Montague.

"This ship will offer our guests a new level of grandeur throughout, from its lavish suites to its elegant public spaces and gourmet restaurants."

"It was our guests that were telling us they were ready for a new build."

The ship is being built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy and will sail European cruises during its launch season from July 2016.
