Sabre agents offered security upgrade
SYDNEY – Sabre Pacific has launched an optional new security application, Ticket Safe, which will provide an additional layer of security to the Sabre ticketing fulfilment product at no cost to agencies.
The feature is designed to allow agencies to enable and/or disable their ability to issue airline tickets outside of office hours.
Sabre Pacific general manager sales, marketing & product, Richard Morgan, said security remains a key issue for travel agencies.
“Prior to electronic tickets, agencies used to unload their ticket stock from their ticket printer and lock it in a safe.
“In essence, this Ticket Safe option allows virtually the same capability by adding an additional security layer to our ticketing fulfilment product.
“This provides Sabre-connected agents a ‘best practice’ check to prevent unauthorised remote ticketing.”
In a separate announcement, Sabre Holdings reported that Greg Webb will take the role of president, Sabre Travel Network. In this new role, Webb will take responsibility for the overall performance of the Sabre Travel Network business around the world.
Webb has been with Sabre for 14 years and has experience with all aspects of the Travel Network business including leading the marketing organisation since 2005 as well as managing the company’s supplier relationships, Travel Network business in Asia, and Sabre’s Hospitality Solutions business.
