Second Ocean Village ship sailings unveiled
Prices and itineraries for casual line Ocean Village’s second ship have been released in a 2006-07 brochure which goes on sale on Monday.
Ocean Village Two will sail from Southampton on its inaugural six-night cruise to its summer home port of Palma on April 25, 2007.
The vessel will then run two western Mediterranean itineraries from Majorca with prices starting at £489 for seven nights cruise-only.
Ocean Village Two will feature a 14,000 sq ft ocean view spa and fitness complex and offer private balconies on 23% of all cabins
The new cruise-only options for Ocean Village Two claim to save £120 on the package price and are designed to allow agents to put together individual cruise and flight packages.
Those opting to take full packages will be able to fly from four new UK departure airports to Palma – Bournemouth, Cardiff, East Midlands and Luton.
The original Ocean Village ship will sail from Crete for the first time next summer, as previously reported by TravelMole, with prices starting at £629 for seven nights. The ship will run two eastern Med itineraries from Heraklion together with cruise and stay options in Crete.
The expanded 148-page brochure, which includes a cover-mounted DVD including preview clips of the new ship, also introduces St Vincent as a new Caribbean destination for winter 2006-07 on sailings from Barbados. Winter cruises start at £849 for seven nights.
Ocean Village managing director Peter Shanks said: “The big new brochure is the first time Ocean Village two ship line-up has been available in one hit.
“The new look and layout makes it even more user friendly for agents and customers alike and the new ship images and itineraries have the wow factor that people have come to expect from us.
“The DVD is also a useful selling tool for agents and a great way for consumers and agents to get a real sense of what Ocean Village’s casual cruise concept is all about.”
