Friday, 18 November 20163 min read

A security operation was carried out at Rotterdam’s The Hague airport yesterday (Thursday) after an anonymous tip-off about a terror threat.

Reports later said that Dutch police had detained a 45-year-old homeless migrant in connection with the threat.

A statement from the airport said despit the extra security measures from the Royal Military Police, all flights were scheduled as normal.

"The airport is still accessible, however we advise all passengers to take some extra travel time into account," it said.

The UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office told anyone in the area to follow the advice of local authorities and allow extra time for their journeys.
