Startup Greater Bay Airlines granted HK air operator certificate
New carrier Greater Bay Airlines has been granted an air operator’s certificate to operate services from Hong Kong. It plans to launch operations with three leased Boeing 737 planes, the airline said.
It expects to increase fleet size to seven planes by the end of 2022. Its main market rival is Cathay Pacific Airways which celebrates 75 years in business.
Greater Bay Airlines said it has applied for rights to potentially operate to more than 100 destinations in mainland China, North Asia and Southeast Asia when the market rebounds.
