With the Constellation Hotel Group opening its newest property, the Chifley Potts Point, business and leisure travellers can now stay at the very smart and contemporary property which has undergone a major $10 million refurbishment.

The first Chifley branded hotel in Sydney the Chifley Potts Point is formerly the Crest Hotel Sydney and now offers 227 contemporarily styled guest rooms with that added classic Sydney bonus that many CBD hotels can’t offer, views of the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.

Chifley Potts Point will be the first of five new Chifley properties opening in 2008 and while the hotel is called Potts Point that might be just pushing it as it is right in Kings Cross, located on the corner of Victoria Street and Darlinghurst Road, with a unique outdoor terrace looking across to the area’s famous Coca-Cola sign

Constellation Group General Manager Jonathan Wooller said travellers would welcome the newest addition to Chifley’s fast growing Australian network, adding, “We have wanted to bring the Chifley brand to Sydney for many years, but we were determined to wait for the right property in the best location,”

He added, “Chifley Potts Point is extraordinarily well positioned to serve both leisure and business travellers with guests surrounded by some of Sydney’s most exciting entertainment, and just a short walk from the city’s best shopping, top tourist attractions and important business districts.”  “The hotel’s exclusive meeting facilities are also sure to make the hotel instantly popular with the MICE market and anyone looking for a great venue for a private function.”

Chifley Potts Point will be the first of five new Chifley properties opening in 2008, with on April, Constellation revealing the 104-room Chifley Eastern Creek, a new development set on 1.1 hectares at Eastern Creek Raceway in Sydney’s west and the company has also announced plans for a 128-room Chifley property in Dandenong, one of Victoria’s fastest growing commercial districts, along with new Chifley developments in Townsville and Newcastle, each offering more than 80 stylish apartments.
