The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has launched a new global MICE brand campaign at IMEX Frankfurt. “MaxiMICE Thailand – From Potential to Exponential,” is positioning the country as a future-ready destination for high-impact international business events.
The new branding was unveiled at the IMEX Frankfurt 2026 trade show. It is designed to showcase Thailand’s strengths in connectivity, creativity, sustainability and government support for meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions.
Dr. Supawan Teerarat, President of TCEB, said the MaxiMICE concept reflects Thailand’s ambition to maximize every dimension of business events, creating not only incremental growth but also long-term value and measurable impact.
“The business events industry is evolving rapidly,” Dr. Teerarat said. “Organizers today are no longer looking only for venues or destinations. They are looking for trust, connectivity, meaningful experiences, sustainability and measurable outcomes. Thailand is uniquely positioned to deliver all of these.”
The new campaign is built around three strategic pillars: MaxiMICE Your Convenience, MaxiMICE Your Experience and MaxiMICE Your Impact.
Legacy becomes more important than attendance numbers
According to Teerarat, the branding was developed following research into what international planners and delegates now expect from MICE destinations.
“The findings were clear. Success is no longer measured simply by attendance numbers or memorable experiences alone. Operational reliability, business outcomes and long-term legacy are now equally important for organizers and delegates,” she said.
Under the “MaxiMICE Your Convenience” pillar, TCEB is highlighting Thailand’s accessibility, aviation links, expanding transportation infrastructure and strong government backing for international events.
Thailand currently has 10 key MICE cities supported by local authorities, provincial agencies and private-sector partners. Additional second-tier destinations are being developed for future events, although hurdles in infrastructure development coming from a rather slow and complicate administration with multiple layers of decisions, are easily delaying projects.
Supawan Teerarat said meanwhile that Thailand’s long-term infrastructure projects, including expanded motorway networks and future rail links connecting southern China, Laos, Thailand and Malaysia, will further strengthen regional connectivity.
Bangkok remains the country’s main MICE hub, with venues capable of hosting events for more than 50,000 delegates, alongside more than 1,000 hotels affiliated with the Thai Hotels Association.
“We place great emphasis on international standards, ISO-certified venues and sustainability certifications to ensure organizers receive high levels of safety, service and operational excellence,” she added.
MaxiMICE in details
TCEB also emphasized its direct position under Thailand’s Prime Minister’s Office rather than the Ministry of Tourism, allowing it to coordinate more effectively with government ministries and strategic industries. “We have more means to adjust strategies,” added Teerarat.
The bureau’s “Government Ready” initiative supports events connected to sectors including medical wellness, energy, finance, digital innovation, infrastructure, agriculture, food security and the creative economy.
The second pillar, “MaxiMICE Your Experience,” focuses on creating immersive local experiences rooted in Thai culture, communities and regional identity.
TCEB works closely with the Thailand Incentive and Convention Association (TICA), local SMEs and the Creative Economy Agency to help planners design culturally driven programs and authentic experiences across Thailand’s diverse destinations. “Today’s delegates are seeking deeper connections with local communities and local wisdom, not just sightseeing or entertainment,” Supawan Teerarat said.
The final pillar, “MaxiMICE Your Impact,” centers on sustainability, carbon reduction and measurable ESG outcomes for events. The convention bureau has developed carbon management tools and partnerships with certified organizations to support planners pursuing decarbonization, net-zero and net-positive event strategies.
At IMEX Frankfurt, TCEB also announced its participation in the Net Zero Carbon Events initiative alongside GDS-Movement and the Joint Meetings Industry Council (JMIC). “We want Thailand to become a platform for events that create positive impact for communities while remaining environmentally responsible,” Teerarat said.
Meet in Thailand across wellness, digital and sustainability
The MaxiMICE Thailand brand is supported by TCEB’s “Meet in Thailand” promotional campaign, built around the concepts of Meet Well, Meet Smart and Meet Positive.
Meet Well focuses on wellness, hospitality and delegate wellbeing, including MICE fast-track airport services and partnerships with more than 150 hospitality providers nationwide.
Meet Smart introduces digital tools and applications designed to connect delegates with local attractions, restaurants, transportation and community experiences through a single platform.
Meanwhile, Meet Positive supports first-time events in Thailand with financial incentives, in-kind support and sustainability programs aimed at reducing carbon footprints.
The launch comes as Thailand continues to strengthen its global position in the meetings industry.
According to ICCA’s 2025 rankings, Thailand remained ASEAN’s leading meetings destination and ranked fifth in Asia Pacific after hosting 171 international conferences across 18 cities.
Bangkok also ranked second among Asia Pacific meeting destinations in Cvents 2026 rankings and was similarly recognized by AMEX GBT.
Major international events confirmed for Thailand include the World Bank and IMF annual meetings in Bangkok, the Global Wellness Summit, Money20/20 Asia, and several large-scale sustainability and energy conferences.
“These international rankings and successful events reinforce Thailand’s readiness as a world-class MICE destination,” Dr. Supawan said. “Our new MaxiMICE Thailand brand will help strengthen global confidence in Thailand as a destination capable of delivering meaningful, impactful and future-ready business events.”
