Tech glitch forces Belgium to shut air space
Belgian airspace was shut for two hours yesterday afternoon, because of a technical glitch.
All air traffic was temporarily suspended while air traffic control fixed the problem.
Brussels Airport described the issue as ‘an exceptional situation’.
Five other airports have been affected, with aircraft prevented from flying over Belgium from 4pm local time.
At the time, air navigation service provider Belgocontrol said the issue is a ‘very specific problem’ and it was ‘no longer sure that all information of flights was correct’, according to Sky News.
Flights resumed by 6pm local time.
