TelMe Farebase signs agreement with Conferma
Travel technology and air fares distribution specialists, TelMe Farebase has signed a collaborative agreement with leading online hotel reservations company, NIS Europe, to integrate NIS’s Conferma hotel management system into the Ticket Window suite of products. The new Ticket Window Conferma will enable TelMe Farebase to offer agents the ability to search availability, make and manage bookings in hotels all over the world. The system allows agents and their travel clients to search and book hotel rooms with real time availability and ensures that they can access the most favourable rates. The technology package will include the Conferma Database nett rate loading programme, hotel allocation management programme, hotel content and images, in addition to preloaded Conferma commissionable rates. The same system will also allow agents to manage hotel allocations and rates for non-GDS hotels. This will be an ideal tool for business travel agents who will be able to generate additional revenues through managing hotel programmes for their clients. Retail and leisure agents will also benefit by obtaining wholesale hotel rates, late room availability, and dynamic packaging with flights to offer to customers. Conferma Operations Director, Sherie Keable, commented, “We are sure that TelMe Farebase customers will be quick to realise the full benefits of this service as the quickest and easiest way to make low cost world-wide hotel reservations”. Ticket Window Conferma will be available as part of the TelMe Farebase Ticket Window suite of products. It will initially be available through the Sabre GDS system. Galileo access will follow shortly afterwards and full GDS compatibility should be available by the end of 2004. Peter Muller, Managing Director of TelMe Farebase, continued, “We are delighted to be able to offer this new hotel service to agents. This additional product will augment our air fares distribution and management system for agents and will provide another source of potential income for travel agents”. Agents will also be able to opt for a commission collection service through this collaboration with TelMe Farebase. For a small fee, commissions on bookings will be chased by Conferma and remitted on a monthly basis to TelMe Farebase clients. Conferma will continue to be responsible for the development and delivery of the technology for the hotel management system for customers.
