Thomas Cook ditches Hotels4U brand
Thomas Cook has closed its online hotel booking business Hotels4U and is now selling the accommodation through its own Thomas Cook brand.
Visitors to the new are being told that no new bookings are being accepted and are being redirected to search for ‘Thomas Cook Hotels’.
Customers with existing bookings are being reassured their bookings still stand.
Thomas Cook said in a statement: "The marketing strategy for Thomas Cook has changed significantly over the last year, with an increased focus on the Thomas Cook master brand, particularly in the consumer-facing, hotel-only space.
"We are now offering all hotels previously offered by Hotes4U on thomascook.com, which enables us to ensure that our product offering is all available in one place to build a one stop shop for all our customers’ travel needs."
The operator added that only the B2C operation has moved under Thomas Cook. Its B2B Medhotels brand has not been affected.
Thomas Cook bought Hotel4U in 2008 from the Centurion Holiday Group for £21.8 million.
