Boeing’s revolutionary Dreamliner aircraft has suffered a third glitch in as many days, causing Japanese carrier All Nippon Airways to cancel a flight following the latest incident.
ANA said it had been forced to axe the flight from Tokyo because brake parts needed to be replaced. On Tuesday, a Japan Airlines 787 Dreamliner caught fire shortly after landing in Boston on a flight from Tokyo.
Another Japan Airlines 787 aborted a take-off from Boston earlier this week after about 40 gallons of fuel was seen spilling on to the runway. The FAA sent investigative teams to the site and when an all clear was given, the aircraft in question took off later the same day.
This week’s incidents are the latest in a series of problems the airliner has suffered since the launch of the first commercial flights, by ANA, in October 2011.
Thomson Airways will become the first UK airline to operate the Dreamliner from this spring, closely followed by British Airways.
