Titan switches to Amadeus from Galileo
Amadeus has snatched Titan Travel away from Galileo.
The deal with the multi-branded specialist operator was clinched after Amadeus won ebooker’s Travelbag and Bridge the World business away from Sabre.
The Titan signing came as it was reported that three Amadeus airline shareholders – Air France, Iberia and Lufthansa – had started tentative moves to sell some of their shareholdings in the GDS. Initial indicative offers are expected by November 3.
Titan Travel’s brands include Titan HiTours, Connections Worldwide, Tailor Made Travel, All Canada, Grandstand Sports Tours, Titan Groups, The Classic Traveller and Holts Battlefield Tours.
Titan processes more than 125,000 segments a year and has switched away from Galileo following trials of browser-based Amadeus Vista, which claims to offer agents “the most extensive level of functionality, tools and integration of any front-office platform offered by a GDS”.
The operator’s managing director Martin Coe said: “No other GDS could offer us a single solution that would enable us to streamline all our offices nationwide. Amadeus Vista is user-friendly and gives our reservations staff the option to choose either the traditional-style command page format (cryptic mode) or a point-and-click graphical user interface, enabling any agent from beginner to expert to carry out sales and information tasks. This will help reduce training time greatly.”
Amadeus UK managing director Amaud Debuchy added: “This is the third large customer migration project we have conducted in as many months, following the earlier migration of ebooker’s Travelbag and Bridge the World businesses from Sabre.”
