EDITOR’S NOTE
British Airways chief executive Rod Eddington will deliver the
results of the airline’s ‘Future Size and Shape’ review tomorrow
(Wednesday). It is unlikely to contain good news for agents.

All the indications suggest that the airline will seek to
increase its amount of internet sales by offering bigger online
discounts. This was certainly suggested by the carrier’s Head of
UK and Ireland Sales Tiffany Hall at last week’s Business Travel
2002 exhibition, see: http://www.travelmole.com/item/71351

Travellers are looking to the internet for significant cost
savings – and as the success of the no-frills airlines shows –
this is a trend BA cannot afford to ignore.

Best wishes

TravelMole’s reviewer Adrian Mann says: “One of the UK’s best-
known travel brands. It’s a bold, simple design style, and
superficially looks better in this incarnation than it has
before…[However]It has the feel of a site that’s been ‘got at’
by a committee who wanted to make sure absolutely everyone got
their way, with the legal department having the final say.”
