Trade day set for travel show
The New York Times Travel Show has announced its trade day for industry professionals will take place on Friday, February 28.
The show is one of the largest consumer travel fairs in the US, attracting up to 500 exhibitors from around the world.
Held at Jacob K Javits Convention Center in New York City, the trade day will kick off at 9:00am with a schedule of seminars focused on topics such as adventure travel, culinary tourism, LGBT travel, and wellness travel and medical tourism.
There will be panel discussions and presentations by key industry leaders including Lillian Africano, president of the Society for American Travel Writers, Michael Yessis, editor-in-chief, AOL Travel and Michelle Fee, president of Cruise Planners.
The keynote speech will be delivered by Yana Carter Gutierrez vice president of American Express Consumer Travel, which is the show’s founding sponsor.
The event continues on March 1 and 2 when it opens its doors to the general public with travel discounts, giveaways, food tastings and seminars.
Also, a rock climbing wall, bungee jump and live entertainment are planned for the duration of the three-day event.
