Travel salaries jump
Average travel salaries leapt in June to set a new high for 2015 following three months of minimal movement.
According to the latest Travel Salary Index from C&M Travel Recruitment and C&M Executive Recruitment, salaries have jumped 4.07% so the new travel role now pays an average of £25,873.
Salaries rose across the board, with executive wages (those paying above £40,000) increasing to their highest level since last December, while pay for new standard travel jobs (those paying up to £40,000) increased at its fastest rate since last October.
The three-month average salary, which provides a more reliable indication of the state of the market, has now risen annually for the past nine consecutive months.
"Looking more closely, the biggest rises were seen in London and the south west, while there were also very healthy salary increases for both standard travel roles and executive positions," said Barbara Kolosinska, director of both companies.
