Amid falling markets, there was little cheer for travel and tourism shares yesterday. The FTSE 100 share index fell 15 points to close at 4330, while the broader-based FTSE 250 dropped 50 points to end the day at 5664.3. Among the 250 companies on that index, lastminute.com was the worst performer yesterday, dropping another 16.5p to 213.5p after a broker’s “sell” advice. The share price has now dropped around 100p in recent weeks, but the shares are still 107 per cent more valuable than at the start of the year.
