Turkish hotel sacks bed-hopping barmen
ISTANBUL – The manager of a small hotel on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast has sacked all her male employees, accusing them of having regular affairs with female guests.
Manager Pelin Yucel said that when she caught her male waiters and barmen bed hopping with guests she decided to replace them all with a women-only team at the 27-bedroom hotel in Marmaris.
Ms Yucel, 32, said: “It got beyond a joke. The last straw was when I caught my bartender coming out of a toilet with a woman guest.
“She was embarrassed but he was beaming all over his face.”
She also said she could never contact her night receptionist because he was always in bed with the guests.
She said, “The waiters would prey on older English women staying at the hotel. They would wait for them to come back from nights out – often drunk – then seduce them.
“They would have one guest one week, wave goodbye to her, and eye up the new guests as they arrived. It was hell.”
The manager of Image Hotel says that now she has an all-women team her job has never been easier.
She said every woman had to pitch in to do every job, including night receptionist, night security, bartender, waitress or hostess.
