Two people are missing, feared dead, after a hot air balloon carrying six tourists crashed into the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Peru.
Peruvian authorities rescued five women on Sunday but the pilot and another man are still missing.
The women were found clinging to the balloon’s floating basket. Reports suggest that one of the missing men tried to swim to shore to get help.
Peru’s Interior Minister criticised the balloon’s owner, Globos Peru SAC, for failing to provide life jackets and for not equipping it with a GPS tracker.
In February a hot air balloon crashed in Luxor, Egypt, killing 19 tourists including three Thomas Cook customers.
The balloon was flying at 1,000 feet when it apparently caught fire and exploded, crashing into a field.
