Two foreigners killed in Tulum shootout

Two foreigners were killed and another three were wounded in a shootout in the Mexican resort town of Tulum. It is thought the two women – from India and Germany – were caught up in a gun battle between rival gangs.
Two Germans and a tourist from the Netherlands were wounded. It occurred just off Tulum’s main strip. Larger tourist areas in Quintana Roo like Playa del Carmen have seen gang violence on the streets but it has been relatively rare in Tulum.
