A typhoon has killed at least 26 people in Japan and has left thousands of others stranded.
Rescue workers are searching for more than 50 people who are believed to be still missing.
Typhoon Talas hit coastal areas over the weekend but was later downgraded to a tropical storm.
High winds and heavy rains have flooded rivers and caused landslides. The worst damage was on the Kii Peninsula, south west of Tokyo.
The north east of the country, which is still recovering from a devastating tsunami and earthquake earlier this year, was not significantly damaged.
