Flybe has blamed uncertain customer confidence and poor weather for a slow start to 2017.
The airline said it delivered a solid third-quarter in the final three months of 2016, despite tough trading conditions, but business has slowed at the start of the fourth quarter
Flybe reported a 13.5% growth in passenger revenue in the three months to December 2016, to £146.3m, compared to 5.7% in the first half year, with seat capacity down slightly and a 2.8% decrease in passenger yield compared to a 2% decrease in the first half of the year.
New CEO Christine Ourmieres-Widener, who joined this month, said: "I have only just started work as CEO at Flybe. However, everything I have seen so far confirms my excitement at the opportunity we have to become the best regional airline in Europe.
"There is much to be done, but we have the firm foundations needed to develop the business. My first priority is to look to rebuild passenger unit revenue and to challenge all our costs.
"This will be assisted by Flybe becoming an even more customer-focussed business as we achieve greater control over our fleet size."
