United Airlines is cutting two more international routes to Guam due to continuing weak demand.
First to go is the Shanghai Pudong route on March 22 followed by flights from Sendai, Japan on April 1.
"Guam remains an important hub for United. We are adjusting the capacity between Guam and Japan/China in response to the current weak demand for travel," United said.
According to data from the Guam Visitors Bureau, tourist arrivals from Japan fell by almost one-third between September-November 2017.
United is also reducing capacity on other Japan routes to Guam.
All three daily Tokyo Narita flights will be operated by 166-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft from early May, replacing larger Boeing 777 aircraft.
It will also half Nagoya and Osaka Kansai flights to once a day in March.
"As Guam’s hometown airline, we remain committed to doing our part in supporting the local economy and we look forward to an increase in demand so we can return to our normal flight schedules."
United remains the largest carrier serving Guam and had a 46% share of seat capacity in 2017.
